Hello everyone,

This is my first post though I have been lurking here for a while. I started straight shaving a few weeks ago after thinking about it for about a year. So I took the leap and order my new razor and gear from SRD (arrived in excellent shape).

Anyway, I was shaving a few days ago and while rinsing my razor, my 3 year old daughter snuck into my bathroom and hugged my leg. Needless to say it startled me. However, my new Dovo razors blade kissed the edge of the sink

Since this razor will ultimately be my least expensive one, I am going to take the opportunity to try and fix it myself. I have spent hours reading wiki and posts, and watching videos but the only way to really learn it, is to try it.

I plan on taking a conservative path since I dont want to ruin the razor (in case I want to have Lynn fix it ). I was thinking of starting with circles on a 1k to straighten the edge and remove the nick and then move on to the pyramid. Any other recomendations you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

My gear (once I get it this week) will be:

  • norton 220/1000
  • norton 4k/8k
  • 12k chinese waterstone
  • CrOx spray

I also got the norton flattening stone and a Dia-Sharp coarse Stone.

Thanks,
Adam
