    Well, got the norton 220/1000 in today.

    Did the lap with some (ironically) norton 220 grit sandpaper and my glass patio table. :-)

    Took the sheffield from the 220 all the way up to 8000 and a stropping and gave it a test shave under my jawline. (Sometimes I'll just shave the neck and leave the upper beard with a free days growth.) It's definitely better than before, but the test will be when I try to shave the chin/etc area, those are always the hardest.

    I'll take it to work tomorrow and have a look under the microscope and report back.

    My old other point of comparison is a henckels that another forum member honed for me (thanks Tim!). Hard to compare because the henckels is really small and light and this frameback has some weight behind it. THe henckels is definitely sharper but like I said, the shave is sort of hard to compare.

    compare it on the thumb pad test, when it comes to that, design of the blade is much less of a variable
