Thread: Honing Services in Vancouver

Well it's semi-official. I'm going to be in Vancouver from the 17th to the 23rd of this month to attend a conference with my wife. We will be staying at the Hyatt hotel. Though I will not be able to bring the usual number of hones or microscopes, if anyone wants to try to do a mini meet-up please let me know.

Next time there is a meetup in van (mini or not)... pm me. I want in. Always looking to brush up on my skills (honing and stropping &c). I thought I was the only psychopath left in vancouver who doesn't mind the big 'ol blade on my throat. Good to know there are still some "good old boys" left in this city. The knife sharpening place is called sharpening house. It has moved to cambie and 7th. The owners name is Shawn and although he's really good at doing knives, and a really nice guy, he WILL butcher your straight razors. I made the mistake 2x before I decided to hone myself. Lol

Help out he did! I got my razor honed and it shaves like a charm. Honed on a 1000, 4000, 8000 and finally on a 12,000 Naniwa stone and I've have never got such a good shave. Highly recommended.

Maxam Im glad you had a good experience with rustyrazorcompany. he has done great work for me and Id go back in a heart beat. I hear he has razors to sell and strops. I havent gotten any from him but I assume if his hone quality is that good so will his strops and restoration jobs.
