Thanked: 0Honing Services in Vancouver
Hi
I apologise if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any good honing services in Vancouver BC? I don't need my razors doing for a while yet but would like to know who I can approach when the time comes.Thanks.

Thanked: 0Another looking for a Honing service in Vancouver BC or in the Lower Mainland BC
Hey all, I am also looking for a honing service for my brand new, never used but no edge blade. I am not sure if the company shipped it not ready or it got manhandled by customs Canada because when I got the blade the package had the Customs Canada packaging and the original packaging had been shredded. Due to this I am concerned that if I do attempt to pay shipping both ways and the honing charge for a company outside of Canada, that when it comes back it may go through the same thing and I don't know if, when they open it they ensure that it is not sharp while in shipping. I therefore wish to find a local GOOD honing service or at least one that is in Canada.
Thx

Thanked: 43Check out the classifieds under "member services". I know Maxi, who is in the Toronto area, does honing.

I've also heard good things about Maxi's edges, and his resto work looks really nice. Should your travels bring you near the Portland, OR area or if you want to risk going through customs, I'll gladly hone for no cost - just pick up return shipping costs.
.
I hope we have some members in the BC area that weigh in on how/whom they use for edges.

I have not. I read in another forum from a guy that did get his razor honed there and apparently it was good. But I cannot verify this.
I am learning to hone myself and have finally sharpened 2 of my razors successfully, but I am too new at this to offer my help to the unsuspecting public.
