Thread: NYC honemeister??

Hello to all,
Can anybody recommend a honemeister in NYC? I'm in Manhattan, relatively new to str8 shaving and would love to find locals to maintain my razors or just to share tips.

There was a story about someone who worked at the uptown Pasteurs knowing someone in town who honed razors. I've never followed the lead myself, nor have I heard any reports on edges from this person. But - it's a start.
There's a place in Soho - NY Shaving Co.... allegedly they take razors in for honing. I've been in the shop once and I didn't like the vibe so I never returned.
I used someone in Brooklyn to hone a few razors; John's - near 10th ave - they've been sharpening razors, scissors, knives, etc for 30 yrs or so. If you don't drive it's not convenient though. Plus - he's only open 9-5 M-F.
There may be other places - but that's all I know of.
The lack of available honing venues is what got me to buy my first set of hones. Learning to hone was probably one of the best things I ever did for myself.
