Thanked: 199Do you have 2 razors? I'm just using 2 that I shave with often so I can compare the shave to what I'm used to. If you are picking up some just for this, I don't really know what to tell ya. I imagine any razor that has proven to be reliable would be fine. If you're new to honing, stay away from a smiling blade...this can take a while to get the hang of. And avoid a wedge. Stick to the hollow ground ones. They don't take as long to hone up.

This should be educational. Is there a rookie category? So far, I have only used my 8k as a finisher on the handful of razors I've honed, to mostly good reviews. I have a nice comparison, with 2 TI Le Canadien 6/8s, one done by Maxi and finished on the Escher,.one done by me and finished on the 8k. I've been curious to try the one-stone 4k/8k method.

Man, this would be fun. If I didn't still have a pile of razors to test shave for others I would order a Norton for this.
