8k shave
Today I honed again with my practice razor and I guess I got to greedy with it and went with a 12k finisher. And that was a bad idea on my part as a beginner I didn't know how to use a finisher and I killed my edge after the 8k so I came to the conclusion that I'm not ready for a finisher. I really like a 8k shave and as glen says if u can enjoy a 8k shave there is no point in going any further so as of right now I'll take that advice

Thanked: 993This is a great post.
Learning from trial and error will set an experience in your brain. Good for you. Get that 8k pushed as far as you can, then read up on the finishers. I think you should pass this on to as many people as you can.

Uncommon wisdom, Tyler. Bravo! The rest will come. You got a shaveable edge from an 8k on your first attempt at honing. I sure didn't. I don't know many who did. You're gonna do fine.
