Just put one strip of electrical tape one the spine of the razor. Trim so it covers the whole length. Can you be a little more specific about your taping or honing issue?

Any of gssixguns you tube videos shows how to tape the spine.
Watch them all if you can and you'll get lots of good information

Run the tape down the spine of your razor. Start the tape just before the tang becomes the spine and finish a bit off the end. Cut the excess off (a little hang over is ok and helps when its time to remove it) If the spine is centered on the tape there will be equal amounts on either side to smooth over, if its a bit un even thats ok. Be sure that there are no wrinkles or bubles and you should be off to a good start. What kind of stones are you using by the way?

We are talking about honing here, not stropping right? Master stropping first, the lessons learned there carry over to Honing.
