hi all i.ve broke my 1k, so is it possable for me to beval set using 1000 grit sandpaper and a peace of glass untill i find another hone ?
so then i thought is it possable to hone a razor upto shave ready using paper n glass ??

Possible but sandpaper leaves deep scratches. Shave ready from sandpaper on glass...No, definitely not.
I have a King 1k that was very reasonably priced. I think the ultimate among guys for a bevel setter is the Naniwa Chosera 1k at double the price of a King. I wish I would have gotten the Chosera.
Norton 4k/8k is a must have stone imo. Can shave off the Norton 8k quite fine but a Naniwa Super Stone 12k finish would smooth things up nice. That would be all you need for a great set 1-4-8-12k all the way from bevel set to finish.

Before I had a 1k stone I soaked a piece of 1k and stuck it to a flat stone, IMO no problem

Someone overr at B&B uses micro mesh. I know there was a thread over there a while ago about this for beginners. It worKs, from what I remember, but it's very expensive.
