Finally happened...Eh crap!
Well after convincing myself it wouldn't happen to me...it did; the dreaded
fauct ding.
There are two very small less than 1/2mm about 1mm behind the toe. So I need to know if I should start with the 5k, 8k, or am I going to have to go all the way back to 1k to put a whole new bevel on this razor?
Sorry for no pics at work now using the computer. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Thanked: 1263You're pretty much going to have to reset the bevel and hone the dings out.

Thanked: 247I am going to invent something that we "running water rinsers" will all appreciate. I will post up a photo later. It should make tap nicks a thing of the past!

Ugly? Yes, but not as ugly as a damaged razor. 4 dollars at an auto parts store.
You still need to avoid contact with the sink and floor, but this removable feature could be worth a few gray hairs

We had a conversation on "doinking the faucet" in the Feather thread yesterday...
My fear was so great that I've taken to using my late Uncle Custy (the Barber) trick, clearing the lather off by stopping it on a damp towel. Remember that the Pro's can't keep turning away to the sink, its not close by anyway.
He would either lay the towel on his shoulder or put it on yours depending on what he was doing.

Thanked: 247Yup, I lay a towel out for this explicit purpose...but somehow I still end up with my razor under the tap.

My facuet is almost identicle to yours unit; that cover or a piece of radiator hose slit up the middle may work as well. I also keep a towel too; I just forget its there frequently
Thanks for the feed back catrentshaving; I figured I was going to have to, but a second opinion is never a bad thing. On the other hand, it does give me an exscuse to try out the naniwa green brick tonight Just relized that was a piece of hose..lol My work computer monitor really sucks...Last edited by tiddle; 09-21-2012 at 07:45 PM. ohhh man, this is exactly why I have 2 razors in my rotation right now. Working on getting more, but more to the point:
Faucet dings are the bane of my shaving, I've done em quite a few times, too. Not fun.

Yeah I have 3 in rotation now, so I just grabbed one of the others and finished the shaving, but it's still a face palm moment lol. I think I should just put a high kitchen faucet in there and be done with it
