Honing skill; newb, beginner, intermediate, expert, meister. Which are you?
Yeah, edge assessment and edge restoration should definitely be in there.
I say edge restoration because I consider many other areas of restoring to be a separate skillset.

Hmm. I think I'm in my sophomore slump. I know what to do but lately I'm moving a bit backward. Experience tells me I might be coming up to a breakthrough. I'm beginner to intermediate right now.

beginnner. i can hone a razor and shave with it. i ignore all the tests except the shave test.

I'm closer to intermediate than beginner tho like others have said, I'm learning something new all the time.
