Yeah, live and learn. I strop on a towel to get the lather off then after the shave I hold the blade with both hands under low flowing water to ensure I don't nick the blade. But the problem isn't where you are careful it is where you don't think you will hit anything, I had the blade move suddenly when I didn't expect it so mine almost hit the counter top edge. Can't win!

Paid my dues today
I've never done this myself. I wipe the lather off with my finger and rinse the blade once at the end.

i hang my face towel over the faucet and put another one around the edges of the sink. I started doing this after I dinged my brand new Dovo the first week I started shaving.

Lather for the most part is air mixed with soap and a minute portion of water, why not just wipe the blade off on a dry washcloth or towel and avoid the dings.
