Paid my dues today
Shaving in a hurry, lost concentration and dinged my blade on the faucet. Still fuming about it. Not a deep ding in the edge but needs to go to the hone. Ugh. I just bought that razor a week ago and was having a wonderful time with it. Good shaver and was really liking how it was shaving. Oh well, these things happen if a guy doesn't pay attention. Lesson learned....slow down.

Thanked: 983Most of us have been there mate. Don't kick yourself too much. Just have the edge sorted out and carry on. It could have been much worse.

dont worry so much about it.
i really messed one of mine up.
thankfully it was on the very tip and i managed to create a uniqune looking dovo by making the front look like a boat.
will make a good razor to practise honing on

Dinging the blade on the faucet is a required ritual that leads to careful rinsing. Newbies would be well-advised to take a practice razor, slam it into the faucet, see the results and learn from the experience. I learned by doing it with a really nice one I had just put my best hone on. There are better ways to learn.

Thanked: 983Either a rinse under the tap or a sponge placed in the sink, but be warned; When I ding mine many years ago it was when moving my razor into position under the tap for rinsing. Now I make exaggerated movements to ensure contact is never going to happen, keeping an eagle eye on everything. Stay focussed.

Auto-pilot shaving...too bad it doesn't have one of those backup cameras on the front of the blade
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
