Default Honing first try, part two the shave

So anyone who read the first part of this knows that I honed for the first time yesterday. Today was the shave. While I cant say it was buttery smooth, it was partially dfs, partially bbs, and partially bad! At least I got the bevel set which is a big step for me. I think I need to drop down to the 8k for a few x strokes then on to the polishing stone again. All in all I'm happy with my first try! My face may not be but I am-lol! Big for step for me- big! Now all I have to do is polish it up a little bit make it smoother and I'm good to go. Thanks for everyone's help and for listening to my second rant in 2 days!

Congratulations! It will get better with every hone you do, at least it is my case. I enjoy honing, like fly tying, once you catch that fish with the fly you tie, it's blissed! Double O

Even in these last few steps keep tweaking the bevel, polishing, observing the bevel width and consistency. Strop a variety of ways and play with increasing draw on the strop.

Fine tuning an edge can take weeks.

This was one reason barbers didnt like honing much.
