I've been thinking about purchasing a finishing stone in addition to my Norton 220/1k and 4/8k stones with money I currently don't have. I think the Nani 12k could do it for me. I'll just be dreaming for awhile.

I hope I don't get pulled down the HAD rabbit hole. I'll make it a point to stay away from the HSR.

i bought one the other day , i just honed about 25 razors on mine that were already honed from 1k-8k , and 5 razors from bevel on the 1k then up 4k , 8k , 12k ... im gonna pick one out tomorrow when i shave and see if i can feel any difference

honestly i cant say that i felt a difference while shaving , but i will say i felt a difference in the results .. it seemed to be a much closer shave on my one pass , i prob dont have enough shaves under my belt to really tell while shaving though , only been at it for a few months .. i can say that the Feather blades in my DE that i used with the straight made a big difference ...lol

Just ordered the Naniwa SS 5k 8k and 12k, I will pick up a 1k later as I have a set of kings I use for chisels and knives. I plan on dedicating the currently unused side of the 1k if I need to reset a bevel until I pick up a 1k Chosera.
The three SS for $171.87 with shipping.

Bl#*dy well have to get me one of those Naniwa's.

What's the apx. MSRP on those 12k's???
