I received a new prototype to test out (true). I honed it up and it got so sharp that the hair actually fell into pieces just from the sight of the edge (almost true).

A test I prefer to use requires the edge to be waved around in the air (edge leading). The tester then looks diligently for brief but brilliant streaks of light streaming off the edge (the test is best performed in a dimly lit room). These lights are energy releases from molecular cleavage.

    THAT is a sharp edge.
