Thanked: 199Little bit of translation help?
Around 11:00 into the video linked below, the Japanese barber applies baby powder to the clients hair, and I know he explains what the reason is for it, but I am not that fluent with Japanese, so I'm lost. Anyone have access to someone that knows Japanese that could get an explanation for me? Many thanks in advance!

When I get home tonight, I'll see if my wife can give a hand. She's Japanese, so she claims that she speaks the language (I guess I'll have to believe her because she managed to get us around in her hometown and in Tokyo pretty well without my inability to speak the language causing fits)...

Reminds me of my barber shop.
According to him, it improves the contrast so he can see uneven spots in the cut hairs better.
