    No fair.
You need to show the entire knife or razor and tell us more
about it and why a translation is justified.

Well, I asked the wife and she said they're too stylized to read properly. The last one is "saku", meaning "Made by", the first two are the name of the maker--maybe "Shuu-somethingorother".

    Sorry...

I was working for a guy who had two shops. They both had the same flash (design sheets) on the walls. So I'm in one shop and the boss is in the other. The phone rings and he asks me if I know the Edward Lee flash with the two skulls and the big piece of kanji. I tell him that I am looking right at it.

"What does it mean ?" he asks. I don't have the faintest idea I reply. He says,"Intellectual and intelligent. thank you!" and he hangs the phone up. For a long time when anyone from the orient came into the shop I would show them the design and ask for a translation. Finally someone came in who could read it. It meant 'evil'. My boss had made the assumption that the customer would go for it if the translation had been 'intellectual and inteligent' and they did.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I lived in Japan for a couple of years and they have three writing styles, hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Needless to say, I gave up the writing part. I believe there 2000 characters for just the basics. It increases to 4000+ characters.
