    Default 23/8 Greaves chopper. YEP!

I saw this and just had to have it. The price was kind of high so I thought about it most of the auction time. In the end the seller accepted a bid of half price.

It was advertised as a W.Greaves but I didn't see the W until I went after it with some 600g. It was stamped right into the blade face which you can see is needing some clean up before I use it.

I am starting to get a collection going of this sort of cutlery. I pass on a lot of stuff but sometimes I just can't resist.
    Everybody needs a chopper right?

The wooden handle has the typical rings on the end the same as on many of the Greaves wood working tools. Mom already has her eye on it thinking it would be just what she needs for chopping her famous coleslaw. I may have to forge a new one for her to keep this one :<0)

Wondering if it is used in a rocking motion ? Not much flat to this smiler to just chop straight down. Chef's, got an answer ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
