Thanked: 98Very Nice Job Bruno, W2 steel is that right? I'm a fan of just about any big blade.
Great job on the Baldric Hirlau, looks like enough room to add an oval diamond steel if you were out working the blade hard.
I've made a few 5160 leaf spring machete's and they have held up well for anyone thinking of using 5160. Differential hardening works well with it, some were quenched in Parks 50, my preference.
