One of my two fathers (long story) was a crackerjack carpenter. Could cut a roof or build cabinets and everything in between. He liked Disston saws. I was on ebay not long ago thinking of getting a Disston to use for work I do around my church. There are saw guys just like there are razor guys and 'London spring steel' Disstons, old ones, modern ones. A real trip. I would have bought one or another but realized I had to do a bunch of research or I'd probably get the 'wrong' one. I worked at carpentry as a kid but went into ironwork cause I thought it was cooler to be on that high steel ....... at the time.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Some guys like to take pictures. I am going to combine 3 threads so I only have to take one....

The only markings I can find on the two sets is Made in USA on the aluminium one.

That seems to be a popular brand and I will have to look it up!

Now you will have to put a little sweat on that repair so it blends!

No worries it will get plenty of use, and just like a razor when it start to get dull you just sharpen it, what a concept!
