Well I just sent it off and when I went to fill in the form I looked at it and noticed that its a Blast not a Wave, just goes to show how much notice I pay!

It seems as though the Blast was discontinued a few years ago If they accept it needs sorting out under the warranty but haven't got the parts to repair it will be interesting to see which model they suggest.

Good luck, i'll be interested to see how they respond.
If you end up having to look for a new one I'm in agreement with the others. Leatherman is still pretty much the gold standard. If you absolutely must have something else I have a SOG multitool that has held up over the years as well.

I will agree that SOG is a second choice. But not the quality of Leatherman.

Leatherman fixed my "Super Tool 200" that broke on a mission while I was AF. One side of the pliers broke right off. They replaced the pliers and sent it back to me free of charge. It's on my hip right now. The only thing I had to do was set a snap on the pouch flap due to the Velcro giving out.

Well a Leatherman Rebar arrived today to replace the broken Blast.

It's a close enough model that it seems a good replacement, it feels a little lighter but that's not necessarily a disadvantage.

I'm pretty impressed at Leatherman's warranty service.
