    Default Sardinian knives.

Here some pics of my sardinian knives (resolzas). I guess most of you already know what am I talking about, they are famous all around the world and some collectors are willing to wait even years to get one from the most renown masters. They are all hand made, blade in carbon steel (in some of these N690 or damascus) ram's horn handles. I hope you like them.

These are "pattadese" from the city of Pattada - Sardegna - Italy. Made from one of the best masters: A. Deroma.
The blade shape is called "myrtle leaf". These knives were originally used by shepherds. They probably became famous for the first time during the First World War as they were used in the melee by the valiant soldiers of the Sassar Brigade of the Italian Army.

This is called for its particular shape "foggia antica". This was made from a master in the city of Castel Sardo: P. Elias.

Another foggia antica. Damascus and snake wood. I really appreciate the file work. This last in particular was done by a hobby knife maker...His name is G.Sechi from Cagliari. I guess he should be a master now, if he has undergone the required examination.

That's all for the moment, hope you have enjoyed.
    Cheers.

I will say they are interesting. Im not a knife guy although i care a sharp instrument in my Leatherman that cuts what i need. And the wife has Henckel kitchen knifes. But yours are nice looking and sound like something special.

I have to admit that I had never heard of these knives before now. Those sure do have the looks of art pieces made by experts. Thanks for posting.

After discovering many new things on this forum I am really happy to be able to show you something that you hadn't seen yet!
Johntoad57, you are absolutely right, although in fact they do not provide for a block of the blade, they do not absolutely need it, they are built so as to be sure not to hurt the user, very well balanced!

Beautiful blades. Thanks for sharing. Are they made for using or collecting?
