I thought I would share my new EDC knife. I changed the grind to better suit my preferences. It shaves arm hair on the heel end but the toe needs work.
Started with 180 grit diamond stone and progressed through 1k, 6k, barber hone, phig, then grossularite. Seems this is a lot like honing a smiling wedge. Sadly it is my first failure at honing a smiling wedge. :)

The little Buck is my pocket regular. I used to carry the Cold Steel everywhere but the clip came off the quick draw sheath so it got benched. I have the Kydex to fix it but since I moved to a town I am in no hurry. It used to hang upside down on my belt and if I wore a jacket the pachmayr would be the only thing showing. It came out quick and was always within reach. It's well worn and needs some love too !

My current EDC (for the past few weeks) has been this discontinued A.G. Russell one hand folder. The handle is all one piece of spring steel. And the blade is Cowry-X steel (at rockwell +/- 66-67) and stainless clad.
It took me a while to find one....and now that I have it it's not leaving my pockets for quite a while I think.

I currently have a Leatherman somethingorrather in my bag. I'd like something simpler, btu I haven't yet seen anything that made me whip out my wallet. An Opinel #8 came pretty close, though...

Fun fact, mine is a limited edition, made with a piece of wood from the "Hermione", a reconstruction of the frigate on which La Fayette embarked in 1780, to bring support to the American insurgents !
i like it, do you know how deep the tang goes into the handle?
Sorry Hirlau, I forgot to mention that it's a foldable knife, with a very simple mecanisme to lock the blade in both positions.
I could do a little review if needed !
No , that's o.k.,,,that's an interesting folder, at first sight it looks like a fixed blade.
