My 'EDC knife' for when I'm out in the bush arrived today. Not the same as my urban EDC knife, that's for sure...

If I could get an Opinel #8 for $12 to $15 shipped in Canada, I'd be over the moon about it. They're about $17 at MEC.ca, but then there's shipping, which can really pump the price.
Maybe I'll check amazon.ca...
If that could help for the size of the #8 :

But they are so lightweight, it doesn't feel like a "big knife" at all.
That's a nice size, I carry a small Maxpedition bag on my hip, so that will fit in just fine.
Smoky MtN Knifeworks carry the Opinel as well. I saw them in the store when I was there.
Haha, and good news Hirlau, it appears that you can even shave with an Opinel ! :p
(Skip to 3:00, the lathering part is... weird. It looks like he's afraid of hurting himself with the brush. Or maybe he thinks the badger may bite him !)

Call the police, I had two EDC in my pockets today !

This is just my opinion but I like my EDC to be thin. I spend most of my time in an urban environment and keep my knife in my pocket. Even though it is not as heavy the handle of the #8 is bigger than a roll of quarters. Uncomfortable and very obvious.
Here is the first link I ran across in a search.
CARBON BLADES, Opinel Carbon Knives
You could buy 5 of them to get over the $50 for free shipping. :)
