The build, materials used, workmanship, grind, tolerances and honing/polish of their blades are all in the upper tier as far as production/mid-tech knives go.
My CHI is made from ZDP-189, and hardened to 66,7 HRC!
They also use YXR7 steel.
Both steels are made by Hitachi.
And no, remarkably enough, it is not a very chippy steel at all.
There is a lot of hype and mumbo-jumbo out there regarding this maker.
The crux of it is simple enough though, they are mighty fine knives and comes with a hefty price-tag.Bjoernar
