I carry a cheap little knife that looks like a Boker subcom DealExtreme: $4.82 Stainless Steel Manual-Release Folding Knife with Clip (11.5cm Full-Length)

    good for everyday use.

I got one of these in the post today

A Spyderco Urban. A UK Legal carry slip joint. If you hold it correctly it will never close on your hand due to the choil, very clever. Expensive for me, but an excellent idea. I really like flat blades, so I waited for this version, rather than get a UKPK or the other Urban which have leaf shaped blades.

    Default EDC's

I carry a Gerber Suspension MT on my belt. I like the Gerber over other MT's such as Leatherman, mostly for the fact that the pliers are spring loaded and the handles are spaced far enough apart that fingers don't get pinched.

Nothing against leathermans, just a personal preference, and the Gerber was $26.

Also EDC a Benchmade 580 Barrage. That is one HELL of a knife. I was having trouble deciding on the full size, or the 585 Mini-barrage, and finally got the 580 full size. I compromised by also buying the Mini-Griptilian , which my fiancee carries. Too small for my hands.

I lost my benchmade bench mite, which I used nearly every day. I loved it but being a sucker for variety I just picked up one of these

Spyderco Knives MeerKat 1-15/16" VG10 Plain Blade, Phantom Lock, Blue/Green FRN Handles Model C64JPBG - Knifecenter.com

I also like that Boker subcom and I'm thinking about adding one to my order.

Boker Plus Chad los Banos SUBCOM Folder with Black 1-7/8" Combo AUS8 Blade & Money Clip - Knifecenter.com

If you wait another couple of months there's a premium version coming out with titanium handles and a 440c steel blade around april.

I don't think 440c over Aus-8 is much of an improvement to be honest, if at all. The difference is all in the heat treat and Aus-8 can take and hold an absolutely brilliant edge. The subcom is hardly a heavy weight anyway so not sure about titanium either!

I like the one with the wharncliffe type blade, but I really don't need another small locker.

Incidently LX, have you picked up a Coronado? That is a hell of a lot of knife for the money. I recommend every one get one!

Each to his own offcourse. I much prefer Böker's 440C over anyone's AUS8.

And Titanium over FRN and steel, even if it's only for the feel.

I didn't get the coronado....I have most of my spending money stuck in knife making materials.....I've got all sorts of cool woods, MOP, steel etc laying around without me having a lot of time to work with.

I ordered one of these after seeing this, since it is so cheap. This is a straight out ripoff of a boker. This knife opens very easily one handed, which is a plus for me.

Glad i ordered it though. someone stole my little gerber off my desk at work
