ok well so basically what your saying is there is no point in honing it and that i should get a new good quality razor

i shall definitely get a new one not made in pakistan

I think that is the gist, you don't necessarily need to buy a new new razor, just a new to you. There are sually some fairly inexpensive vintage razors in the classifieds here, just double check that they are shave ready and you will be good.
Honing seems to range from $15-30 (plus postage both ways)depending on how much needs doing, so if you can pick something.up for around $50 shave ready, you will actually be paying about $25 more than trying to get what you have honed.

I won't make specific recommendations on what's currently available in the Classifieds, but have a look in the razors section of the forum at the various brands and makes available from the vintage era - there are loads. One of my personal favourites, not least because they are ubiquitous in Australia, is the Bengall by Cadman. Very nice little shavers. But of course there are many others that are good too.

The most important thing is to make sure what you get is in good shape - not too much, or uneven, hone wear (flattening of the spine from lots of honing); rust free (may have some patina, a lot of mine do), blade looks symmetric and the edge is either straight or "smiling" (avoid "frowning" edges), scales in good shape with no cracks, pins reasonably tight, etc. Preferably it will be shave-ready from the seller.

    Good Luck!

    James.
