Hello! 24yr old male about to cut his jugular according to my gf
Just bought all my straight razor stuff can't wait till it gets here. My gf thinks I will cut my jugular but I think its worth the risk . I bought a simpsons silver tip badger brush and a dovo stainless steel ebony straight razor and a strop from SRD.

Go cautiously into that bristle beard and welcome to SRP. Helpful hint: Make sure you are able to fully concentrate on where the blade is at all times and the angle of the blade also. Don't try to do a complete shave the first time if you are running into problem areas. Many SRP members, myself included, on occasion rely on a DE or SE to finish off odd places on the face. I use a DE about every week and a half for a complete shave due to other skin problems. And remember, in the SRP, asking is a way of life if you need answers and reading through the wiki doesn't answer everything. We all like to chip in with our own perspectives on any question.

Welcome to SRP!!
Sounds like you're off to an excellent start with gear. Below in my signature line are two links that are really helpful for that first shave. One is a video and the other is an article.
Lots of great folks here ready to help if needed. Enjoy the forum!!
Best Regards,

Welcome to SRP. Pleased to have you as a member. That's a great beginning shaving kit. Take good care of it and it will take good care of you.
As for your gf's fears...So did my wife and daughter. That was four years ago. I'm still standing.
You'l really have a great time indulging in the act of straight razor shaving.
Take care...

Thanked: 433My gf thought the same thing, but here I am four years later with intact jugular!! lol!!
If you can find locals to help you on your way that will be a big plus. If you look in SRP staff under mentors or do a advanced search on the menbers tab for your state/area you should be able to find local help if you need it.
