Hello from Dublin
Hello all, I have been lurking for a while scanning through the varied content of the site and felt it was time to say Hi. I have been shaving with straights of differing quality for a decade and have just recently wound up with an 11/16 Marples & Co which I love, its a budget razor but suits me just fine. Since finding SRP I have followed some recommendations and purchased products that would otherwise have passed me by, notably Olivia's Seife bay rum soap and Pinaud Clubman ASL.
The antiquity of the practice was the initial attraction for me and I am thoroughly absorbed by the ritual of it now although, I do sometimes marvel at the expense of the equipment and wonder what my Grandfather would have made of Japanese finishing stones Silvertip brushes and premium strops. Anyway, thank you for what I have learned from you so far and I look forward to learning some more.
Cheers
Stephen

Howdo Stephen?
my grandfather bought me my first razor and now every time i see him he tries to dissuade me from using it telling me it makes his skin crawl because he thinks i am going to slit my throat and he has spoken to his professional barber that assures him i can get just as good a shave from a mach 3. now i dont give a flying hole in a doughnut what my grandfather says.
