Guess I needed to be slightly more specific.... ed, henry's cat, the 79 one is rather quiet and shy.
    Be just and fear not.

Im not shy just time poor. Not all of us are fifo with nothing to do for hours every night except chat on our smart phones.
I coulnt even read all Ed's posts let alone all the threads he chats in. The ones that get big I leave as theres no way I have the time to keep up. That said if I had the time I would be just as bad

    Thanks guys.

Just had my best straight shave so far. I used my father in law's 6/8 Friodur that has hardly been used. Either the edge is a bit keener than my Atoya De Luxe 5/8 or I just go the angle a bit better, but either way things felt a lot easier this morning. BBS on my neck which is a first!

    Today is a good day.

Another good shave tonight - this time with the Atoya. Before my shave I gave it about 10 laps on CrOx on balsa then stropped as normal. Seemed to bring the edge up a bit better - I think it passed the HHT a bit easier. Again, I managed to easily get BBS on my neck which is normally a problem area with my straight. I have a beard, so only need to shave the tops of my cheeks and my neck. It's all good practice for when the beard comes off though.

I think I'm slowly getting the hang of using a straight.

Your wisdom has proved true! I have been using my straight every day and it is becoming a lot more natural. The quality of my shaves now are almost always better than when I use my DE.

    Thanks again...

I reckon if you had more area to shave you're skill level would improve quicker, depends how precious the beard is to you!

Actually Frank, I forgot to mention that I shaved off the beard just after Christmas so have been shaving my whole face since then. The beard won't be back at least till winter (if ever)!
