Thanked: 0Hello from Brisbane Australia!
Hi All,
Just introducing myself here! I'm a new straight razor guy and I've been shaving with my new blade for about a month now. I drew lots of inspiration/advice from Lynn and Geofatboy and watch their youtube tutorials regularly. I thought it would be time to get involved in the straight razor community and now here I am.
My Kit
Dovo 5/8 Full hollow ground straight razor with black plastic scales
Edwin Jagger Badger brush
Proraso shaving cream
Undecided on shaving balms and aftershave so far!
Looking forward to getting involved! See you in the forums!

Hello and welcome, you have a fairly active community in Brisbane, I think they are arranging a meet fairly soon, there is a thread about it in the down under forum.

Thanked: 0Oh I forgot to add I have a Dovo 2" strop as well! I am pretty happy with the quality and shave I get from my kit so far and I know it will only get better once my technique gets better.
I also have a quick question for anyone able to help.
I am looking to buy a 3" strop with a linen side to take a paste. The strop I'm currently looking at requires it to be treated with strop dressing. In my current kit I have Dovo clear leatherbalm. Is the leatherbalm the same as strop dressing?
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to SRP.
Don't worry about the aftershave issue, there's more than enough to try outLast edited by Yves81; 01-28-2014 at 04:56 AM.
Sometimes I feel normal.
Then it's time to lay down and wait for it to pass.
