Thread: Beginner From Mass

ahhh OK yes much clearer, I thought there was an unseen section I missed. I did subscribe to the SR classifieds so I will know when there is a new offering. As I am expecting my "hardly used" Dovo early next week, I am looking for another 5/8 so I will have 2 right out of the gate to be able to rotate and have a spare in case I temporarily put one out of commission due to bad stropping technique as I learn. This will leave me with 1 useable while I figure out how to properly strop the other one back into shape....thanks again!

My mother just dropped by and saw me looking at razors on this site so we got to talking. She is giving me my grandfather's cups and brush. I am so excited to have these heirlooms! He was my idol and mentor for being a good man. He taught me how to shave, fish, shoot, track, hunt, trap, and fix just about anything.....

I can remember watching him shave @ 4:30 A.M. as he got ready for work as far back when I was 4 years old in 1969. He used to keep his DE razor, brush, cup, and soaps in an old aluminum pot in the bathroom closet. good memories.... I always laughed at the funny faces he made, now I know why.

The other prized possessions I have from him are the ice fishing tip ups, ice pick, ice scooper and tackle box he made for me, and several of his favorite harmonicas.
