    Welcome to SRP

Your DD is in pretty good shape and a good candidate for restoration, excepting one bad possibility. It does not look like cell rot, just poor maintenance. The one bad possibility is the rainbow discoloration at the toe and heel could be either natural harmless oxidation or signs of blown temper. A pro honer should check this before doing much to the razor.

As it is a heirloom I would recommend sending it to a pro for testing of the temper and then restoration followed by honing. If the temper is blown make a shadow box display out of it. You can find some pros in the Member Services Classifieds.

Sorry wrong link, that’s the Summer meet link.

Here is the January meet link.

We are looking for a larger turn out with lots of hands on workshops especially for new guys, we have a bunch of new guys locally.
Trying to get LA Shaving Soaps to attend and bring his line of soap. How cool is that a local soapmaker?

Hi and welcome. The razor does look in pretty good shape. Hope you manage to get it fixed up and keep your family tradition and heirloom alive.
