Thanked: 9Welcome. Are you honing your own edge. What hones are you using on your kitchen knives.

Thanked: 2Avenolpey, yes I hone and sharpen my razors and my knives. For western/european knives I use Shapton Glass. For my Japanese knives, JNats. For my razors, I use a 1K synthetic (or less if needed) to set bevels then switch to JNats, specifically, Tajima, Meara, Yaginosima, Ohira Suita, Nakayama - then strop on Roo with .1 CBN. For my JKnives, I typically stop at the Meara or Yaginoshima depending on the edge I desire.
Thank you all for your warm welcome, I look forward to participating with you.

Hola,
I am new here as well. Also was directed to straight razors because of interest in kitchen knife honing.

We have knife sub forum also ~ Knives and other sharp thingsThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Welcome Mark. You are in good company.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
