Hi and welcome to the SRP forum, you are among friends...

The "is your razor shave ready - honed by a Pro/Experienced SR user?" is the most important question.
And take your time, its like any other "hand/eye/motor skill" it takes practice and a little study.

But it is fun and rewarding and very very few regret the effort it takes to master the skill.

    Smooth shaving...

That depends on your face, if it is tender or cut etc give it a day or two to settle. If not shave everyday, or whenever you feel like it.
I found vitamin e cream useful post shave as the vit e helps your skin to heal.

Keep a feather light touch of blade to face and you should be good for a daily shave. Shaving rash has it's most common cause in putting too much pressure on the blade to skin contact. Remember, it's a razor. T'ain't nuthin' sharper!

Did my second shave this morning and wow wow wow. It is definitely the best shave there is. There is room for improvement and looking forward to many more good shaves.

I am never going back to normal shaving. Did my 5 shave today and love it. It is almost like a mission of mine now to convert friends over to this way of shaving. Just a question to all seeing this. Is there a link to the proper steps to follow from pre shave to post shave with EVERTHING included on SRP. Thanks in advance for the advice.

i am not sure to be honest, but the "proper" steps are somewhat subjective, i lather, shave, wipe off my face, strop, and put on aftershave, but others do heaps more, so it really depends on what you consider that you need/ want to do.

That's not a bad question though, and even though it is subjective, I'm sure someone so inclined to do a short blog or what have you, could put up a basic step by step process that could be tailored and added to by the individual as they progressed and gained skill and knowledge!

I absolutely love straight razor shaving. I have read up on ways to prep and shave and absolutely love it. There is still room for improvement on the chin, back jaw line, upper cheeks and bottom neck, around the edges. I do however think i need to hone my razor as i dont think it is shave ready. I also need to perfect my stropping method. But i must say so far overall. i am still confined it is the best way to shave.
