    Hey Neighbor!

I grew up in Gunter. Went to school with the Martinek boys that own all that country around up there now. Left there in '67.

Great Uncle to run the ice cream parlor on the square in Van A. It closed in the 50's.

I'm in Cowtown now, don't miss that black land a bit.

    Welcome to the madness.

Willie...we just moved here about a year ago, (from Frisco) don't know many people like it seems everyone else does! It sure is different than the concrete growth we were in.

You think it's crazy about everyone knowing everyone else? You should have lived there when the phones were on party lines. Small town, EVERYBODY knew what was going on in everyone else's business. LOL

Grand dad and his brothers used to own the Davis Brothers Ranch in Frisco. Frisco is all house tops now as is where the old ranch was. Mom used to help grand dad herd cattle to Dallas to rail head for shipping in the 1930's.

That country has all changed since I left. Don't recognize much anymore when I take an occasional trip across 380 or up 289.

The old place where we used to live between Tioga and Gunter is torn down now. Barn still stands but that's all. Kind of depressing actually the old place looks like Hell now.. Pastures have been let go and now they're nothing but mesquite brush from over grazing. Doubt there''s been any wheat planted in the fields in 20 years. We worked hard cleaning that place up and making a go out of it. Oh well.

Had some good times as kid in that country.

Don't miss that black dirt that makes the most dog awful mud and then cracks and shrinks when it's dry.
