Welcome. There are lots of folks from your part of the Pacific on here and I'm sure one will be able to help you out. In the meantime peruse away and ask all the questions you want. One of the best uses of time is to start in the welcome center, work straight through all the material for beginners and the videos that are linked there. I started a little over a year ago and found it a great help, which I still refer back to. Beginner's guide to straight razor shaving - Straight Razor Place Library

Welcome!
Give my mate Oz a PM. He's a great guy. You will find him here:

Start reading the very helpful information at the above recommended link in the previous post. With that said you can learn more in a few short hours of hands on help than you will by reading and watching videos for months. I hope you'll be able to meet up with Oz and or some of the other members down your way.
Again, Welcome to an older but better way of shaving. It's a long strange trip but well worth the journey. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Oz won't steer you wrong he's forgotten more about honing and razors in general than I've ever learned. I wish we weren't separated by the Big Pond so he could teach me some of his knowledge. Yes he's in Sydney. If by chance you'd be interested in also learning some martial arts he can help on that also.

Cheers! I already sent him a PM. [emoji4] Sounds like he is the man to see...
Thanks. Sometimes I want to rush things, so I'll remember to slow and enjoy the journey.
I've been looking in already at the Down Under forum... I'll definitely pop my head in.
