I don't think that was speed shaving to Wulli/Willi....He was/is a member here, and there was some interesting controversy over whether it was sped up....it isn't....to this day, I still smile when I see it, it got me into straight shaving...the video was on LiveLeak, a kind of strange/funny video website, so I was sure he was going to shave with that big knife on the wall...then he shaved with the straight....awesome!

The question comes up periodically, and I'm one of those whose grip (combined with nearsightedness) results in blind spots when shaving around the sideburns. Get through this early period with caution, and you'll be shaving by the Braille method with confidence before you know it!

As a 1 hand shaver there is always a bit of Brazil shaving required
This is eliminated with 2 hand shaving I believeSaved,
to shave another day.

I experience the same thing but with some experimenting you find the right angle and the blind spot is very small.

As you become comfortable with the blade you will be able to figure out the different holds and angles of attack, just more shaves needed with some experimenting, I really had a time of it starting out, I only have one eye, and never used my left hand , pretty soon you can do this by feel , I was trying so hard to see around my blind spots it looked like I was trying to be one of those triple jointed gymnasts! Now I use both hands and my blind spots are not an issue , be patient it comes Tc

Thanked: 0Thanks all. Went for it last night. Took it slow, just one pass, and incomplete at that. Didn't want to get greedy. A little tugging here and there but no stitches were required!
All in all a successful and very gratifying maiden voyage.
