Colorado Shave Center (AKA: Denver Shave Center): If memory serves me correctly you can also purchase a nice vacuum while you are in there. Last time I was in there he had a Dovo that was developing black pits due to lack of care yet wanted full price. They have after Colonel aftershaves and Feather products should you be interested in the disposable straights and an impressive electric shaver collection for sale. When asked about sharpening he breaks out a black stone he said comes from Spyderco. I walked out and never returned.

Art of Shaving (AKA: AoS): They have nice razors that are factory sharpened thus usually not up to straight razor enthusiasts standards. When you sharpen the razor the warranty is void and if you use it and don't like it... tough beans. It's yours now. Also, when you ask them to have it sharpened they usually contact people like myself or others that are savvy to straight razor honing. Best bet is to contact a reputable member here for the sharpening requirements. Other than that they have other nice products well worth trying.

You just might want to mention Straight Razor Designs to your family. Why? Well, the gent that runs the store (Lynn) also runs this forum. He not only will hone the razor prior to shipping he stands behind his work. I have purchased razors and other goods there with zero issues. Not to mention there is a great selection of razors to choose from.

    Last but not least...

Many thanks for the pointers. In the Shave Center I also felt like perhaps that wasn't going to be a go-to place for me to hone much of anything, just based on the brief conversation I had with the gentleman working behind the desk. Thank you also for the SRD notes...I have changed my thinking somewhat since that last post of mine and I think that will be the place to make this all happen when it is time.
