VDH soap is a good starter soap and miles ahead of the canned stuff. If it dries out on you while shaving then try just lathering part of your face at a time.

The barber can probably straighten out your tip for you and get it back sharp. Listen well to his advice.

Sounds like you have done alright with the refresh. Hope you pasted the inside of the fabric so you still have your fabric for daily use. Also remember that you need to clean the blade after using the pasted strop to remove any residue before moving to your normal strop. Good luck and happy shaving

Yup just like Lynn showed in one of the many videos of his I saw.

Well had a great shave but I did make it onto the cut of the day. Did another full face with an across the grain on the cheeks but got a little excited and had an oops. Even though I nicked my self that was my first real shave experience and I loved the experience. I did it all this time with the right equipment, proper beard prep, re lathered a couple of time all with a much better version of stropping beforehand, and I threw in some classical music this time and relaxed and took my time. Thanks again I would have been so lost on this without all the info on this site!
