Welcome to SRP!
That Dovo probably still had the factory edge on it and needs to be prohoned. Maybe they will at least replace the scale on it.Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

Hello Alberto & welcome to SRP. You have joined an elite group of very knowledgable people & there is also a wealth of information on here so look around at the different areas, especially the Library where you will learn everything there is to know about straight razors & also feel free to ask any questions on here as there are many people that will be more than happy to answer any question you might have whatever it may be. Sorry to hear about the Dovo. I hope the seller will make it right but if not, ask around to see if anyone has a set of Dovo scales they might turn loose of that they aren't using. If you don't have any luck, get back with me & I'll see what I can do to help you get some more good scales on it again!
Good luck & have fun!

Thanked: 0Thank you Steve,
I'm going to order these scales Black Plastic Replacement Scales | Maggard Razors - Straight Razor Restoration, Custom Scales and Wet Shaving Products. The specs look promising to make them a direct replacement for the razor, and there is a local guy about 15 miles from me who owns/operates a service called the Sharpening Shack so as of right now the plan is to order some scales and bring it to Matt at the Sharpening Shack so he can replace the scales and hone it for me. I did contact the seller, but was only able to speak to an employee who told me they don't even have replacement scales in stock and I still haven't heard back from them. I haven't even learned how to shave my whole face with a straight and am already wanting to learn the honing process so I can keep my razors sharp.

Albert, that sounds like a plan. I did look around & found some new scales I got from eBay but since you found some you can buy & have a guy that will put them on & hone it for you nearby, that is good. I know he will probably be able to get it done faster because you won't have to mail it to him. That is also a decent price for the scales so that should work well for you. Good luck & have fun!
