Thanked: 0Strop is pretty bad. Also seems to have different textures on the insides. This is what I have to sharpen with.

Thanked: 0I believe this should be continued in some other part of the forums.

That looks like it has crox on it, so it certainly isn't a daily use strop, i think you are going to have to look for a replacement one.
You could probably continue to use that with paste if it is otherwise ok.
Edit: start a thread in the strops forum and link this thread.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Definitely looks like it has crox on it. Most of the nicks seem small so a sanding might remove a majority of it but you still won't be able to use it daily as Ed said and will need to buy another and keep this one for touching up. If your razor doesn't have a properly set bevel and been refined enough that strop wont get you to shave ready. I would send the razor out while you are wanting for a strop to arrive. Good luck

Hi & welcome aboard. I see you have had many suggestions so all I will say is this. Pm cudarunner & he will direct you to a person who will hone your razor for you. The strop is damaged & appears to have crox on it so a replacement is advised as already suggested. You could sand down any more of the damage on that old strop & use it with crox before final stropping. All that aside, you seem to have all the information needed unless you need to practice stropping as that is very important to know. One bad stroke will dull a good, sharp blade. You will be ok once you get your razor pro honed & get a good new strop. Good luck & have fun on the site!

Thanked: 0I thank all of you for your advice. I will look for a new strop. I will find someone local to hone my blade. The reason I felt this should have been moved to a different location in the forum is I started in the introduction area. I have been in other forums for other purposes and have found people to become irate if you post in the wrong locations of the forums or cause the derailment of a specific thread. I thank all of you for your understanding and think I may spend much time here if you will allow me.

I wouldn't worry too much about derailing the thread. Many here do it all the time
