Thanked: 0Thanks for the welcomes. In response to some of you, I have a Simply Beautiful pure badger brush, an Omega Pro boar brush, some Col. Conk shave soap, and some Coates shave cream. I don't have a strop yet, but like I said earlier, I don't plan on using the Shumate for a quite a while. I'll definitely get one though when I do decide to use it and I'll be sure to send it to a pro for honing. Perhaps I'll seek out another cheap straight razor to practice my stropping and honing, because I would also like to learn to hone eventually as well. But all that is a long way off. For now, I'm going to concentrate on my Edwin Jagger, since that will be my daily razor. I think I've found my best blade for now, the Astra Platinum. I got a giant sample pack from SRD and I plan on revisiting the other blades once I feel I've mastered the safety razor. A couple other good ones for me were the Gillete 7 o clock Super Stainless and the Lord Super Stainless. The worst one so far has been the Personna Lab Blue. Tore my face up with that one.
