Yup I have talked to him he lives quite far from me and he confirmed that he could not, unfortunately, recommend anything in Israel because "the choice is very poor."
And I took a look at his website and although I am sure that they are absolutely worth it, the prices are a bit too high from me.
(I am a student). But I just asked him what he thought of a razor I am contemplating buying so we'll see what he thinks.
    Thanks

This razor looks good in the pics. I can understand your financial situation & his prices are high so your next best bet is eBay. Try for this razor if you can win it. Once you get it, you will want to make sure it is honed properly. I just found the razor's on eBay & it is still 2 days away. I'm willing to bet they will go up in price, maybe more than you want to spend but take your time & shop around. They do look to be in good condition, especially the one that didn't have rust on it at one time. Do some shopping around. Look for some in similar condition as that one, with little hone wear on the spine & no rust. Here is a list of good brands of straight razors to buy:

Here are some brands you want to stay away from:

Please feel free to ask more questions. We'll be happy to help.

jeramsan, there are a lot of questionable razors out there these days. Generally, any razor that is low priced and/or included in a package deal is a re-branded low quality steel all made in one of several places outside the normal manufacturing areas. They may or may not come ready to use, they may or may not hold an edge for more than two or three shaves. You are a beginner. You should not have to worry about immediate concerns of re freshening an edge. Proper stropping helps maintain the edge of a good razor for many months.

At this point I would say that a valid path to follow would be to invest in an inexpensive safety razor. There are many out there at very reasonable prices. 100 double edge blades can be bought for a reasonable price on eBay. That is, I'm assuming you are using the disposable cartridges currently. There are many SRP members that only use a safety razor, both double edge and single edge. There is a separate section on the forum of these users. And many members, myself included, with use a DE or SE when rushed, traveling or needing to give outr face a rest for a day but still need to be shaven.

    Something to think about.

I have never heard of those brands. I would stay away from them. They are more than likely cheap razor's that aren't worth the money & you would end up with disappointment.

That is a very good one, better than the previous brands you mentioned. You need to make sure it is shave ready so you might want to get with someone like Manah to see if he can hone it for you. You also need to know how to strop it so I hope you have been watching the video on here about that. You also need a good brush, soap & a mug or scuttle. Once the razor is shave ready, you will get a very close & comfortable shave.
