Thanked: 4206A Boker king cutter, nice first blade, my first was also a Boker. Great German steel. And Phil will give it a fantastic edge!
As Shawn suggested, wipe it and shave without stropping for your first attempt. And the links provided are great views to help you along the path.
Steptic pencils are our friends in the beginning.
I believe Val from the Gentleman's Den is out RH way so you may be quite close to a great resource.
Welcome to the club and happy shaving.
There will be a GTG for the GTA this spring/summer for certain, and lots of support locally on here as well.

Thanked: 1Update: The razor got here today from Classic Edge and I'm happy to report that I survived my first shaving attempt with it. (I only did parts of my face to get a feel for the razor.)
I guess I'll move on to the Beginners forum now, but I wanted to thank everyone again for the warm welcome and the helpful advice so far.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
