    Well cheated and used the DE this morning. Too rushed for straight.
    Did have one question. How long should I be able to go on average before needing razor re-honed.

    Welcome to Wonderland as you have just started down the Rabbit Hole. hehehe

    That question has many variables that come in to to the equation;

    How heavy is your beard
    How's your stropping
    How's your preshave prep
    What kind of razor do you have

    Really the list goes on and on.

    With 'Proper' Stropping I've been able to keep an edge shaving well for about 3 months, but I will say that I could tell that the edge was deteriorating about 2 months in. Back then I didn't own a hone and now I play with my edges so much I really haven't kept track of how long I can go before I notice a degradation of the edges performance.

    That's why there really isn't a Hard and Fast Rule. Each individual is unique and so his edges will last differently from someone else's even with the same blade,and everything else.

    Enjoy the ride.
