I shave everyday , I know a lot don't , but it does add more practice and not much time between shaves ,, ive even shaved twice a day when I have special occasions in the evening ,, what I,m saying is I guess thats one way to get more practice, if your technique is good and the razor is right , it wont hurt to shave more often tc

Shave as soon as you feel stubble. It will mean shaving more often but require less effort to shave. I would also look at why you are nicking yourself so often. Is it in the same spots, a technique issue or what. The odd nick I put down to rushing or occasionally trying something new and going astray but 2 every shave is not the way to continue. Good luck

I wouldn't worry about shaving more, but concentrate on making the shaves that you do have good ones. You need to pay particular attention to why you're nicking yourself and where. Is it always in the same area or on a specific pass? If you can eliminate the cuts, that's a big positive step in the right direction. Slow down, concentrate. 2 or 3 good, nick free shaves per week will be better than 6 or 7 bad ones.

Thanked: 43Technique is very important but also the razor.
My grandfather was a part time butcher and shaved exclusively with a straight razor.
He used to say that when you want to cut meat you could use a rough or toothy edge obtained by a fast coarse sharpening system.
This is true of the razor as well.
If my razor is taken to a smooth as silk edge I can shave much faster and use a slightly more aggressive technique.
For me the first shave after a honing requires a bit more caution than succeeding shaves.
After two or three shaves with stropping between shaves the edge achieves its maximum smoothness.
I have tried stropping three times as much after honing but that is not the same as shaving and stropping three times.
Long story short... if you are nicking yourself a lot maybe a part of the problem is that you have not achieved optimal smoothness of your razor's edge.
If you shave with a meat cutting edge its hard to not cut meat!
