    Default Hello to everybody !

    Hello,
I've been a lurker around this forum off and on for a long time, really enjoy the reading here. I have been a DE wetshaver for about 20 years now, with the exception of straight razor use too, never became a genious in honing, believe me. I completely gave up for some reason six years ago on the straight's. I recently got the bug to get back into them though, I have a really nice collection of razors, especially fond of my Joseph Rodgers razors. So I would like to drop in a post here and there, glad to be here, you have such a great bunch of knowledged people here.

Don't worry you don't have to be good with honing there are plenty of guys who can help you with that , welcome. Tc

    Hi Scott
    Welcome to SRP
It might help if you put your town name in. Locals will know where to look

I appreciate the welcome everybody, thanks a bunch !
What I'll have here is four straight's to start out with again, awhile back I had SRD do two of these for me. One of these is a Ralph Aust 6/8 Spanish-point(couldn't resist temptation) and these are really nice razors for that price, anxious to try this one out. I hear all good stuff about them. I should be good to go for awhile, but definitely like to find some closer contacts for honing later on, I live in Cody,Wyoming about 2 hours south of Billings Mont., I should have mentioned that earlier. I'll put that on later. I will post some pictures later down the road definitely, I've got some really nice vintage straight's, about another three weeks I'll have more time to do some things (chaotic here right now).

    Thanks again,
    Scott

Here is a link to the SRP forum that lists the Razor Meets in the past year. Find those that are closest to you then contact some of the members listed in those threads to find one who may be able to give you some 1 on 1 help. It will shorten your learning curve dramatically.

Also, here's a link to the "Local Help" list and there are a few very qualified members in the Northwest. Local Help - Straight Razor Place Library

One on one is a major advantage in the learning curve! Highly recommend it!

    Best Regards,

    Howard
