Welcome Ruan- I am also from SA and have just joined the forum today too. Hopefully this is a good sign that our wetshaving market is growing!

Thanks Panthera. It's is hopefully doing just that. Where do you get your razors and hones from in SA? I have managed to find one place in Sandton.

I picked up my straight recently whilst in Germany on holiday- but you can pick up Dovo's from Sharp Edge in Sandton (also have a decent online selection of other things). There is one vendor on Bid Or Buy that sells Norton 4k/8k combo stone which as I understand is a great start for beginners into honing and should be all you need for a while. For all of my general wet shaving supplies (soaps, creams, brushes etc) I use River Valley Trading, COPIA and Master Shave all on Bid Or Buy.

The South African contingent seems to be all missing from the forum ?
